Got a new Arris router. Now the HP Envy 4500 printer will not connect. It say something about MAC address filtering may be the problem. No clue what to do.

I'd be glad to help you! 

 

The solution here is to downgrade the router security protocol from WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal (AES) to WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) for the 2.4 Ghz network.

 

You may also try the below steps if that does not work. 

 

To prepare your printer for a wireless connection, restart the printer, computer, and router.

  1. Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  3. Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
  4. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 10 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the router. Wait until Internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
  7. Turn on the computer.

 

Connect the printer to the Wi-Fi network

Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.

Turn on the printer and make sure ink cartridges are installed and paper is loaded in the main tray.

Connect the printer to the local network.

Printers with a touchscreen control panel:

On the printer, select Restore Network Settings (or similar) from the Wireless , Settings , or Restore Settings menu.

Get the network name (SSID) and password. Go to Finding Your Wireless Password for more information.

Select Wireless Setup Wizard from the Wireless, Settings, or Network Setup menu, and then select your network name and enter the password.

 If you are still unable to connect the printer, please print a wireless test report and share it with me in a private messge.

 

1. Make sure the printer is turned on and paper is loaded in the tray.

2. From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.

3. Touch Print Reports.

4. Touch Print Wireless Test Report.
