Hi @Dz_316,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If you're trying to connect your HP OfficeJet 4652 All-in-One Printer to a new Wi-Fi network but are unable to enter the password due to the absence of a dash (hyphen) on the printer's keypad, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restore Network Defaults

  1. Power On the Printer: Ensure your printer is turned on.
  2. Access the Control Panel:
    • Tap on the Wireless icon on the printer's control panel.
  3. Restore Network Defaults:
    • Go to Settings (the gear icon).
    • Select Network Setup or Network.
    • Look for an option like Restore Network Defaults.
    • Confirm this action to reset all network settings.

Step 2: Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network

  1. Wireless Setup Wizard:
    • After restoring network defaults, tap on the Wireless icon again.
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard from the menu.
    • The printer will search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select Your Network:
    • When your new Wi-Fi network appears, select it.
  3. Enter Wi-Fi Password:
    • Use the printer's keypad to enter your Wi-Fi password. If your password contains a dash or other special characters that the printer doesn’t allow:
      • Alternative Characters: Some printers allow you to enter special characters by pressing a combination of keys (like the number or symbol key). Check the printer manual for specific instructions on entering special characters.
      • Change Password Temporarily: As a last resort, consider temporarily changing your Wi-Fi password to one that does not include dashes or special characters, connect the printer, and then change it back to the original password later.

Step 3: Print a Network Configuration Page (Optional)

  • To verify the network settings:
    1. On the control panel, press the Information button (usually looks like an "i").
    2. Print the network configuration page to check if the printer is connected to the correct network.

Step 4: Use HP Smart App

  • You can also try to set up your printer using the HP Smart app:
    1. Download and install the app on your smartphone or computer.
    2. Open the app and follow the prompts to add your printer.
    3. The app may allow you to enter your Wi-Fi password more easily.

Step 5: Update Firmware

  • If you're still having issues, ensure that your printer firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP Support website.

If you’re still unable to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network, please provide details about any error messages you see, and I can help you troubleshoot further!

Please mark this post as Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
