Hi @JJJJJ24,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To change the network name (SSID) and reconnect your HP printer to the new WiFi network, follow these steps.
Using the Printer Control Panel
Turn on the Printer: Ensure your printer is powered on.
Access the Setup Menu:
- For most HP printers, press the Wireless or Settings button (often looks like a gear or wrench).
- Navigate to the Network or Wireless Settings option.
Select Wireless Setup Wizard:
- Find and select Wireless Setup Wizard. This option will search for available WiFi networks.
Choose Your Network:
- From the list of detected networks, select your new WiFi name (SSID).
Enter Password:
- Enter the new WiFi password using the printer's control panel. Use the on-screen keyboard to type the password.
Confirm Connection:
- Once entered, confirm the connection. The printer should attempt to connect to the new network.
Print Network Configuration Page (Optional):
- To verify the connection, you can print a network configuration page from the printer's menu.
Using HP Smart App
Install the HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device if you haven't already.
Open the App:
- Launch the app and ensure your printer is added.
Select Printer Settings:
- Go to the Printer Settings option.
Change WiFi Settings:
- Select Wireless Setup and follow the prompts to connect your printer to the new WiFi network.
Enter New Password:
- Input the new WiFi password when prompted.

Resetting Network Settings (if needed)
If you encounter issues, you may want to reset your printer's network settings:
Access Settings:
- Go to the printer's control panel and select Settings or Network.
Find Restore Defaults:
- Look for an option like Restore Network Settings or Reset Network Settings.
Confirm Reset:
- Confirm the reset. After resetting, repeat the setup steps to connect to the new WiFi network.
Note:
- Make sure your printer is within range of the WiFi router.
- If your printer has a USB connection option, you can also connect it to your computer via USB and use the HP software to set up the network connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
