Hi @DawnMD ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to the issue.

To connect your HP DeskJet 4122e All-in-One Printer to a new router, you can follow these steps:

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  • Turn on the printer.
  • On the printer's control panel, press the Wi-Fi icon (or navigate to the wireless settings) and hold it down for 5 seconds to reset the printer's network settings. This will erase the old Wi-Fi settings.

2. Connect the Printer to the New Wi-Fi Network HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)

Using the printer’s control panel:

  • Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer’s control panel to begin the wireless setup.
  • The printer will search for available networks. Once the list appears, select your new Wi-Fi network.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted and confirm.

If your printer has the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button feature, you can connect it via WPS:

  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Immediately after pressing the router's WPS button, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer for about 5 seconds.
  • The printer should automatically connect to the router.

3. Install HP Smart App on Your Computer or Mobile Device HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Ensure that the HP Smart app is installed on your computer or mobile device.
    • Open the app and sign in with your HP account.
    • Select Add Printer from the app, and it should detect the DeskJet 4122e on the new network.
    • Follow the prompts to complete the setup.

4. Test the Connection

  • Once connected, print a test page from the printer’s control panel to confirm the connection to the new router.
  • Check if you can print from your computer or mobile device.

If you’re still encountering issues, try the following additional troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensure that the router is operating on a 2.4 GHz band, as many printers do not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Restart the router and printer, then try reconnecting.
  • If the printer isn’t found on the network during the setup, make sure the router’s SSID (network name) is broadcasted and not hidden.

Let me know if you need more help!
