Hi @ravindersts1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten the username and password for your HP DeskJet GT 5820 Embedded Web Server (EWS) and the reset method didn't work, you still have options to regain access:

Option 1: Default Credentials

Try the default username and password for the EWS. The default credentials for many HP printers are:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin or blank (leave it empty)

Try entering these default credentials to see if they grant you access to the EWS. If successful, you can then change the password to something more memorable.

Option 2: HP Support

If the default credentials don't work or if you've changed the default credentials and forgotten them, you can contact HP Support for assistance. They may provide you with steps to reset the EWS password or guide you through other troubleshooting methods.

Option 3: Restore Factory Settings

If you're unable to access the EWS with the default credentials or through HP Support, you can perform a factory reset on your printer. Please note that this will reset all settings on your printer, including network settings and any custom configurations you've set up. Here's how to perform a factory reset:

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
  9. Press and hold the Power button, and then press the Cancel button twice.
  10. Release the Power button and the Cancel button, and then press the Cancel button again.

After performing a factory reset, you'll need to set up your printer again, including connecting it to your new router and configuring any desired settings.

Option 4: Router Configuration

Since you mentioned changing your router, ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. If your printer was previously connected to Wi-Fi, you may need to reconnect it to the new Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you may be able to access the EWS using your computer's web browser by entering the printer's IP address. From there, you can configure the printer settings as needed.

Option 5: HP Smart App

Another option is to use the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device to manage your printer settings. The app may allow you to access and configure some settings without needing to log in to the EWS.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
