@clown, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When your HP printer does not connect to your new Comcast Wi-Fi network, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Network Connectivity:

  1. Restart Your Router: Unplug your Comcast router, wait for 15 seconds, and then plug it back in. Wait for the router to fully restart.
  2. Move Printer Closer: Place the printer closer to your router to ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal during the setup process.
  3. Check Internet Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable by opening a website on another device connected to the same network.

Printer Settings Reset:

  1. Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Network Reset: Reset the network settings on your printer to ensure it forgets previously saved networks:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to the “Settings” or “Network” menu.
    • Find the option to restore network settings or select "Network Reset".

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  1. Enable Wi-Fi: Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your printer.
  2. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS): Use WPS if your router supports it:
    • Press the WPS button on your router.
    • Within two minutes, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your printer until it starts blinking.
  3. Manual Connection:
    • On the printer control panel, go to “Setup” > “Network” > “Wireless Setup Wizard”.
    • Follow the prompts to select your Wi-Fi network and enter your network password.

Using HP Smart App:

  1. Install HP Smart App: If not already installed, download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device from 123.hp.com.
  2. Bluetooth and Location: Enable Bluetooth and location services on your device to allow HP Smart to detect your printer.
  3. Add Printer:
    • Open the HP Smart app and click “Set up a new printer”.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

Additional Tools:

  1. Check Printer IP Address:
    • Swipe down the notification pane from the top center of the printer control panel to display the printer IP address.
    • Enter this IP address into a web browser’s address bar to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
    • Use the EWS to update the network settings if needed.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
