HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 4650 that I cannot scan to my computer. I can print from my laptop to the printer, but not scan. I've tried using Print and Scan Doctor App and it doesn't help; tried using HP Smart, nada. The only way I get it to scan to my laptop is via the USB. All of this occurred after installing a new router and modem from Spectrum. Prior to that I could print and scan just fine from my laptop.

Of interest, I also get a message on the 4650 telling me I need to reconnect my printer in order to have the HP Instant Ink function to work. Not sure what that means and how to go about fixing that problem.

Need some help here to solve these issues

Thanks

Thanks for your help. I'll work on this later today. I also have a problem with the 4650 not being connected to the Instant Ink website so also trying to get that fixed. I show two 4650's in Devices and Printers on Windows 10. The one I can print from but not scan. The second 4650 is the one that I want to use but it shows as connected in properties with the right network, etc, but for some reason is offline. This is the 4650 that connects to web services for Instant Ink. What would you suggest I do to get the second 4650 to work as it should?

Thanks

Treeko:  I have another question for you. The HP 4650 that is installed and enables me to print from it, is not connected to web services at HP, there is no Instant Ink connection. I got an email from HP Instant Ink telling me that I need to connect the printer to web services. I also get a message on the printer if I attempt to print telling me I need to connect to Instant Ink, when I press ok to do that I get a message about Direct Print. Should I select that? If I do,  what happens to the current network connection between the printer and my laptops?

I called HP Instant Ink but the rep there could not answer my question, but gave me a Case # for HP Support, but I'm hesitant to contact Support as I don't want to spend money to fix this problem.

What would you suggest I do?

Thanks for your help

Hi Treeko - I too am having the "cannot connect to HP Web Services server" issue. What's annoying is I am forced to attempt to connect to the HP server between each print job. This started Friday, 01-SEP-2023, and it's VERY annoying. I hope that HP has not dropped support for the 4650 because it's been a workhorse for our household and I have several unused ink cartridges stacked up.  Please advise. Thank you.
