HP Officejet 5255
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I have an HP OfficeJet 5255, which has previously worked fine. I have used it with Win11, so that isn't the issue. But I have changed internet providers, so maybe that is part of the issue but I'm not sure how to fix that. I have been attempting to connect to my new router, without success. It attempts to connect and then it... doesn't.

Printing out the network test results, wireless on: disabled, wireless working: disabled, then disconnect count: 767, disconnect count (hour) 101, wireless networks detected: 17. The other stuff is all "not run" or "not applicable". I have reset the network settings a couple of times, turned off the printer and the router then brought them both back up, still no luck.

My router doesn't appear to have a WPS button. I've been attempting to login to my router, which is on ViaSat internet, but apparently I lack the correct username/password, despite the password being on the router (it just doesn't work).

I am a disabled 72yo woman with Parkinson's and a poor short term memory, I've been having a friend help me and these are the steps she has taken, but she's at a loss and so am I. I was hoping to email HP support, but they don't seem to have that or a support ticket option, just a crappy virtual agent that has not helped so far, and this community. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Let's try following 'Connect a printer with a touchscreen control panel' below to restore the wireless settings and reconnect the printer using its Wireless Setup Wizard:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1736500-1626554-16

Please let me know how it goes, also be sure to print a Wireless Test Report following the changes, can you see your Network Name (SSID) listed within the Current Configuration section? may you see also any warning or attention on the top of the printed report?
