Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Printer is used on home network, one computer using Windows 11, one using Windows 10.  Was working fine until change from Century Link to T-Mobile.  Error message says "if MAC address filtering is enabled and you would like to keep it enabled you must add the MAC address of your printer to the list of permitted devices for your wireless router" but I find no method for adding the address or for disabling the MAC filter.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @JT1149,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To add an HP 6600 printer with MAC filtering to a T-Mobile internet network, you'll need to follow these steps.

  • Identify the MAC address of your HP 6600 printer. The MAC address is a unique identifier assigned to the printer's network interface. You can usually find it in the printer's network settings or on a label attached to the printer.
  • Access your T-Mobile internet router's configuration settings. This is typically done by opening a web browser and entering the router's IP address in the address bar. The IP address and login credentials for your router should be provided in the router's documentation or by your internet service provider.
  • Once you have accessed the router's configuration settings, look for the MAC filtering or MAC address filtering option. This feature allows you to specify which devices are allowed to connect to your network based on their MAC addresses.
  • Enable MAC filtering if it's not already enabled. Then, locate the option to add a new device or allow a new MAC address. The specific steps and terminology may vary depending on your router's interface.
  • Enter the MAC address of your HP 6600 printer in the appropriate field. Make sure to enter it accurately to avoid any connectivity issues.
  • Save the changes and exit the router's configuration settings.
  • Power on your HP 6600 printer and connect it to your T-Mobile internet network. The printer should now be able to connect successfully, as its MAC address has been added to the allowed devices list on your router.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
