Hello,
I am no stranger to HP printers but my recent HP printer Had a firmware update about 2 weeks ago and since that firmware update the WiFi keeps disconnecting. My printer is well within the range of my router it loses connection a lot and I would like to know if this is a known issue with the latest firmware because before it was updated, not once was there a drop in the WiFi connection suspiciously related or it's pure confidential this has occurred straight after the recent firmware update? I've had HP printers for over a decade or more and none of these printers has had any issues with WiFi, not once.

This has been resolved... I ran another Factory Reset and it looks as though this is stable again. The only thing that I can think that was causing this was for reasons I still don't know why as WiFi Direct kept coming on and I think this was causing problems with WiFi Direct and WPS was fighting oner the connection which theoretically shouldn't happen at all.

I posted this a while back and I would have thought that at least somebody at HP would at least have an answer. I have been using HP Printers for probably over a decade not once have I ever had any issues with the WiFi and ever since the last firmware update WiFi has been behaving sporadically. The most bizarre part of this is the network Setup disappears from menu and you are left with Preferences, Quite Mode and Accessibility and I have never come across this ever and I have had a lot of HP Printers over the last decade. but this particular model is a nightmare. move your printer closer to your router. it's less than a meter away from my cable modem and my router, it couldn't be any closer. Another bizarre moment is the fact that WiFi Direct is turned off and I have to enable it again. it is becoming problematic and i can't have a printer that constantly disconnects from the internet all the time.

Hello,
Sorry, I should have added the model number I apologise for any inconvenience that's my fault. It is HP Envy Inspire 7200e All-in-One Printer it randomly disconnects from the WiFi and it's just over a meter away or just under. I've changed the channel it is connected to and it still randomly disconnects. Like I said I've had HP Printer for a decade and never on any occasion have I had any issues with WiFi this is the first one. Before the last firmware update, it was fine ain't have any issues but since it updated the firmware it's been disconnecting. I was thinking of doing a factory reset but that would still be using the same up to date firmware so that is pointless. This Printer was purchased in February this year. The for are might be circumstantial but the timing of everything going “Pete Tong” is when the firmware was updated that is when I noticed this random disconnection.

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.
Please do check your inbox on the communities page for the private message.
Let me know if this helps.
