Same issue happening to me now.

Looks like your only solution is private one on one?

Please help

HP 9018 printer was working fine on my wireless network. Then one day it keeps saying "An ethernet cable has not been detected. Make sure that both ends of cable are inserted correctly". I am not connected through ethernet and it will not give me an option to connect through wifi anymore.I have reset to factory settings. Rebooted my router, etc. I can only print when my printer connects through wifi-direct.

This is a response I saw that I hope can work for me. Just waiting for an employee to get back to me. Thanks

Hi @WCESC,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We need to perform a Semi full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I am not sure why they hide this info. But they were straight forward steps. It worked for me.

From HP to me:

Let us try these steps:

Note: Performing a reset will delete all settings on the printer.

1.) On the bottom left side of the printer control panel where the Return icon (

) displays, touch the area four (4) times. During this step, the Return icon is not illuminated.

2.) Touch Support Menu.

3.) Touch the right arrow, until you see "Reset" menu, and then press ok

4.)Select Semi-Full Reset and Touch OK.

5.)Wait for the unit to Power Down/Turn Off.

6.)Press the Power button to turn the Printer ON
