I own hp color laser 150nw printer (S.No.Edited). I have lost user id and password of the printer EWS server.

Have tried many combinations but they don't seem to work.

Can I get instructions to reset user ID and password to factory default.

Thanks,

Younus

Hi @ysyed,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've lost the user ID and password for your HP Color Laser 150nw printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS), you will probably need to reset the printer to restore the default settings.

Restore Factory Defaults:

  • Via Printer Control Panel:
    • Turn off the printer and then turn it back on.
    • When it's starting up, press the Cancel button until all the LED lights start blinking.
    • This often restores the printer to its factory settings, including the default EWS credentials.

Check your Printer Documentation:

  • Sometimes, the default credentials are mentioned in the user manual or a sticker on the printer.

Find the Default Credentials:

  • The default User ID for most HP printers is usually admin.
  • The default password may vary, but it could be a blank password, admin, 12345678, or even a custom default specific to your printer.
  • If the password was set by a network administrator or customized before, it may require handiwork by someone in IT.

Note:

Restoring the printer to its factory default state will clear any configurations, network settings, or jobs. Ensure that any important settings are noted down before proceeding with the reset if possible.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Raj_05,

Pressing the "Cancel" Button, prints the attached pagehpfr.jpg

Even though it prints factory reset success. It doesn't seem to actually do any reset

Because the default User ID and Password (according to manual) and other combinations suggested by you are not working.

Also printer connects to my Wifi automatically which indicates networks settings are also not reset as printed above.

Thanks

Thanks for replying @ysyed

Raj_05 is away for now; however, I'm Hawks_Eye, and I'll be happy to help you out!

To fully reset the EWS login credentials on your HP Color Laser 150nw, including network settings, you’ll need to perform a deeper NVRAM reset—not just the standard factory restore.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
