I need to remove the annoying PIN question. Every time I go to Embedded Web Server it asks me for it. I don't want to have a pin. I have checked online and also through the options with no success.

Welcome to the HP Community --

The PIN cannot be removed or bypassed -- it is part of the enhanced printer security.

Depending on your browser and your browser security, following might work --

If it does, it can make the whole "PIN" security less painful

Optional - Offered FYI only

Open your browser security saved passwords --

Click to add a new entry (new url and password)

Add the URL for your printer, for example, the IP address

Add the printer's PIN as the "password"

Example - URL =

https://192.168.2.16

Password = 12375059

When you open protected parts of EWS, the PIN request will pop-up and then be filled in by the security manager in your browser so you can "click through".  Still irritating but less so.

I tried that and when the pop up comes up I don't get an option to put that pin in. I have included a screenshot of the password SetupScreenshot 2025-10-29 174356.png

In the instances where I've made this work, there is no "username" entry.

Leave username blank.

Still won't work?

Well, none of this is part of the standard setup -

Saved password setup is not prohibited but nor is it supported since it is not part of the standard printer settings.

Your browser security is likely different from mine.

Consider it an FYI only attempt, I guess.
