so to start with, my computer is not the greatest, but it works. i need to do some printing, surprise surprise...

My computer can recognize the printer, the HP smart app recognizes the printer. i can do everything up until the printing. i can watch the document go all the way to the queue, pend and then just poof. the printer thinks about it and then stops. it doesn't print. I've tried troubleshooting and it works fine, but if i go into the advanced settings, EVERYTHING is locked with a custom password that i did not set and the one password i got in the setup pages doesn't work.  my only guess is that i need to somehow unlock something and then it might print?? any advice is helpful. thanks in advance.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your printer is locked, I am glad to assist you.

You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer to fix this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
