Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer has always worked fine until the Spectrum techs switched my routers from 2 separate (2.4 and 5.0) connections to one concurrent router. Apparently the router switches connections when needed and I have no way of selecting either connection. HELP!

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Your techs might have left you in a tough spot - printers of this generation / series do not like to suddenly switch frequencies (bands).  Most will disconnect and not be able to find their way back - and if they do, they'll lose connection when the band flips again.

Suggestions / Options

SSID Named Networks

Ask the techs to set the router with two separate SSID named networks - one for each frequency / band.  Connect the printer to one SSID network or the other (it will support either 2.4GHz or 5GHz).  If the router supports this option, it is the easier and cleaner method.

Hopping here and there

Switch off "Hopping" - whether this is a "thing" depends on the router.

OR

Call for your support people - ask for help

Call your tech - ask for help - explain that the printer won't tolerate hopping, cannot tolerate suddenly changing frequencies, and won't stay connected.
