Hi @Munirah1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 6000e printer won't connect and the HP Smart app can't find it, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Status and Connections

  • Power On: Ensure the printer is powered on and all connections are secure.
  • Wi-Fi Signal: Make sure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router and there are no obstructions that could block the signal.

2. Restart Devices

  • Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Router: Restart your router by unplugging it from the power source, waiting for 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
  • Computer/Device: Restart the computer or device you are using to set up the printer.

3. Check Wi-Fi Network

  • Same Network: Ensure that your printer and the device running the HP Smart app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • 2.4 GHz Network: Make sure you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz network, as some HP printers do not support 5 GHz networks.

4. Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  1. Access Settings: On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings or Network Setup.
  2. Restore Network Defaults: Select Restore Network Defaults or Restore Network Settings to reset the network configuration.
  3. Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.

5. Use the HP Smart App for Setup

  1. Install HP Smart App: Ensure the HP Smart app is installed on your device. You can download it from the HP Smart app page.
  2. Open HP Smart: Launch the HP Smart app and sign in with your HP account.
  3. Add a New Printer: Click on Set Up a New Printer and follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP ENVY 6000e.

6. Printer and Device Firewall Settings

  • Firewall Settings: Ensure that any firewall or security software on your computer or router is not blocking the connection to the printer. Temporarily disable the firewall to test the connection.

7. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates: Go to the HP Support page and enter your printer model to check for and download any available firmware updates.
  2. Install Firmware Update: Follow the instructions to update the printer firmware.

8. Assign a Static IP Address

  1. Access Router Settings: Log in to your router's web interface.
  2. Assign Static IP: Assign a static IP address to your printer. Refer to your router's manual for instructions on how to do this.

9. HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and Run Tool: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a free diagnostic tool from HP that can help identify and resolve connectivity issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
