I cannot Connect my printer to the house wifi. I have open the HP app and uploaded the serial number. The HP app recognises the printer, but I’m still unable to connect it to our  Wi-Fi. When searching on Wi-Fi, it still doesn’t find the printer

Hi @Brett787,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear you, and I know how frustrating it is when your HP ENVY 6432e printer just won’t connect to your home Wi-Fi, even though the HP app recognizes it. It’s like everything is almost working, but not quite, and that can be incredibly stressful, especially when you're trying to get things printed quickly.

Let’s walk through the steps to get your printer connected, with a little extra care and clarity.

Step-by-Step Fix: HP ENVY 6432e Wi-Fi Connection Issue

Step 1: Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

Your printer may have exited setup mode, which is needed for the HP Smart app to connect it to Wi-Fi.

To restore setup mode:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for 5 seconds.
  2. Wait until the Wireless light starts blinking blue. This means it’s ready to connect.

More details here:
👉 Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer | HP® Support

Step 2: Use the HP App to Reconnect

Once the blue light is blinking:

  1. Open the HP app on your Windows 11 PC.
  2. Tap “+” to add a printer.
  3. Select your ENVY 6432e from the list.
  4. Follow the prompts to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Make sure:

  • Your PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • You’re not using a guest network or VPN.

Step 3: Check Router Settings

Sometimes, the router may block new devices. Try:

  • Restarting your router.
  • Ensuring the 2.4GHz band is enabled (HP printers often prefer this over 5GHz).
  • Disabling MAC address filtering temporarily.

Step 4: Run HP’s Diagnostic Tool

HP offers a tool that can automatically fix Wi-Fi issues: 👉 Troubleshoot a Wi-Fi connection to an HP printer | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
