Hello community,
Printing via AirPrint (iOS 17.0 and 17.1) does not work work anymore on HP ENVY 7640.
I think the iOS update is the problem. There is no error message on either the printer or the iOS device. With iOS 16 I think it still worked. We print relatively rarely, so I can't classify it exactly.
The HP app was also tried: it doesn't work either. With older iPadOS 15.8, printing works normally via Airprint without the HP app. Printing via PC (Windows 11) also works wonderfully on this printer. Unfortunately, resetting the printer didn't help. Current firmware on the printer is installed.
@HP: could you check the firmware of this printer for iOS / iPad OS 17 compatibility?
regards,
Raymond

Hi @Raymond-DE1
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
This printer is not compatible with IOS 17, and due to that, you were unable to print. I recommend you try other versions of IOS.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

On https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201311 the printer "HP ENVY 7640 e-All-In-One Printer series" is listed as compatible. Document is updated on September 18, 2023. iOS 17 is released on September 18, 2023, so it should be including this printer.

My OfficeJet 3830 does not work with IOS 17.1.1 either. It still works with my IPad which is on IOS 16 so I know it’s an HP issue with the IOS update. I print all the time so I know that’s the problem.
