@Zotto, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP Envy 5530 printer to your router, you have a couple of options depending on how you want to set it up:

1. Wireless Setup (Preferred)

The HP Envy 5530 supports Wi-Fi, so you can connect it to your router wirelessly without any cords. You can do this using the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer's touchscreen:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Wireless > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

2. Wired Setup (USB to Router)

If you want to connect it physically (though not common for this model), here are the options:

USB Connection (to a computer): Use a USB Type A to Type B cable (standard printer cable). This connects the printer to a computer, not directly to the router.

Router with USB Print Server: If your router has a USB port and supports print server functionality, you can plug the printer into the router using the same USB Type A to Type B cable. Then, configure the router's print server settings.

The HP Envy 5530 does not have an Ethernet port, so you cannot connect it to the router using an Ethernet cable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
