Hi @mammayes,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To get your HP Envy 6000 printer back online, follow these steps.
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, verify that it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
Restart Printer:
- Sometimes, simply turning the printer off and then back on can resolve connectivity issues. Power off your printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then power it back on.
Check Printer Status on Computer:
- On your computer, go to the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
- Navigate to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
- Locate your HP Envy 6000 printer in the list. If it shows as offline, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) on the printer and select "Use Printer Online" (Windows) or "Open Print Queue" then "Resume Printer" (Mac).
Cancel Pending Print Jobs:
- Sometimes, pending print jobs can cause the printer to go offline. Clear any pending print jobs from the printer queue on your computer.
Check for Updates:
- Ensure that your printer firmware and software are up to date. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download/install any available updates.
Restart Computer:
- Occasionally, restarting your computer can help resolve communication issues between your computer and printer.
Check Wi-Fi Connection (Wireless Printers):
- If your printer is wireless, verify that it is connected to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect it to the network if there have been any recent changes to your Wi-Fi settings.
Reinstall Printer Driver:
- As a last resort, you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver on your computer. Visit the HP support website, download the latest driver for your printer model, and follow the installation instructions.
By following these steps, you should be able to get your HP Envy 6000 printer back online and ready to print.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I was finally able to get my printer back online. My computer failed to recognize the printer repeatedly and I finally deleted the printer on the computer, but it still didn’t recognize the printer to add it back on. I decided then to try on my iPhone. I first deleted the printer and my iPhone was able to then recognize it as a new printer and put it back online. After that my computer picked it up as being online. I think this might have had something to do with a Windows update that was installed earlier that morning. Thank you so much for the information you sent me.
