I cannot get my HP Envy 6000e printer to setup via WiFi… I have reset with the WiFi reset button and is pulsing purple.   When I go to 123.hp.com and use the HP Smart App the app continues on o not find the printer… when prompted to connect via Bluetooth… I am able to select HP-setup… however keep getting the message that Bluetooth signal is too weak to continue.

is there a remedy for this?

Hi @Skyman1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy 6000e is stuck in Wi-Fi setup mode (pulsing purple), and the HP Smart app cannot complete setup due to a weak Bluetooth signal. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Move the phone or computer closer to the printer
Bluetooth is only used temporarily for setup and has a very short range.
Place your phone or computer within 3–5 feet (1–1.5 meters) of the printer.

Turn off other Bluetooth devices nearby
Disable Bluetooth on smartwatches, headphones, speakers, or other devices temporarily.
Reducing interference can help the HP Smart app maintain a stable setup connection.

Force-close and reopen the HP Smart app
Completely close the HP Smart app and reopen it.
Make sure Bluetooth and Location services are turned ON before launching the app.

Check app permissions
Go to your device settings > HP Smart > Permissions.
Allow Bluetooth, Location, Nearby Devices, and Network access.

Restart the phone or computer
Power off the device you’re using for setup, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
This refreshes Bluetooth and network services that can become stuck.

Restart the printer again into setup mode
With the printer on, press and hold the Cancel (X) and Wireless buttons together for 5 seconds.
The light should pulse purple again, confirming it’s ready for setup.

Connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
Make sure your phone and printer are using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, not 5 GHz.
Some routers combine bands, which can interfere with initial setup.

Disable VPNs or private DNS
Turn off any VPN, Private DNS, or security apps on your device.
These can block printer discovery during setup.

Try setup from a different device
If possible, install HP Smart on another phone, tablet, or computer.
This helps determine whether the issue is with the original device’s Bluetooth.

I hope this helps.
