I have been a big fan of my HP All-in-one computer and the HP Instant Ink service, and would also be of the Envy 6020e printer that I own were it not for it constantly disconnecting from our WiFi network and then failing to recognise it even after I follow most of the HP advice (and other sources) for restoring the connection. It can sometimes take up to two hours to restore the connection and each time follows a different series of actions which leaves me mystified. I generally undertake the following actions each time.
1) Ensuring that the printer is connected to the same WiFi router as the PC on which the HP Smart app is installed.
2) Resetting the WiFi reset button on the back of the printer
3) If necessary rebooting the router, PC and printer
4) Reconnecting the printer via the HP Smart app on my mobile (android phone)
5) Re-installing the printer drivers and re-installing them
6) Making a sacrificial offering to the Gods..!
It is usually after a combination of these and some time elapsed that the printer decides to reconnect.
Has anyone out there found a reliable method for restoring the WiFi link to this printer or do I have to cut my losses and look elsewhere for a less 'temperamental' printer?

Hi @Gareth2459,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your printer.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
C) If the issue still persists, uninstall the printer software by following the steps from this link and restart the devices.
D) Install the printer software by clicking on the link again and let me know if that resolves the issue.
