| New ISP, same old printers, PCs and smartphones: Log into the modem or router and change the SSID (names) of each band so the names are different. Create a numeric password identical for each band to simplify login. If you must use alphanumeric characters then do not use any from this set: ilL1oO0D8B5S as they are easily mixed up depending on the font used. Be sure to run the application (if any) that finds the best channel for each band. Your ISP should be able to do all of this for you if you need help. If you configure the new router with:
Your printer may reconnect automatically. However, your PC may have an old IP address, but you can always tell the PC to find the printer, and it will obtain the new IP address. |
If you do not remember the old SSID or password then
1 - Use a different SSID for the 2.4ghz band
2 - Use the same numeric password for each band
