Delete both these printers.

Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:

Check for any pending Windows updates first.

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Remove the existing printer entry > click on Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
  5. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  6. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try printing.

Let me know how it goes.

I have followed the instructions contained in this email already to no avail so are you suggesting that I try them again?

Dear Maralyn,

In case you change your router or have some changes made to the existing one and you need to reconnect the printer to the network, here are the steps that you can follow to establish  the connection between the printer and computer again:

-> Make sure that the printer is added in the driver - Open the software from your Desktop. Click on the Connect a new device option. Choose to add the printer Manually and type in the IP address of the printer. You can find the IP on the printer by pressing the Wifi button. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the installation process.

If you cannot print even after you have installed the printer, try the following steps too:

-> Open Control Panel. Go to Devices and Printers. Right click the printer that is called Envy Photo 6200 series. Select the Printer Properties option. In the window that will come up, on the top select the Ports option. Select Add a port. Select the TCP/IP port type and type in the IP address of the printer. Click on Add, after which Apply the changed that you have made.

-> After this process you shall have to printers in Control Panel, but only one printer will come up as an option when you print.

In case you need any further assistance, please call us on the number: 0207 6600 596.

Kind regards,
Henrietta.

Yes, please try the steps mentioned in my post. Make sure the printer and the computer are connected to the same wireless network.

This is the last resort as we have tried all other steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Hooray - success at last!  Many thanks but please can you tell me why I needed to do this when it has been working wirelessly for years?

Glad to know that the issue is now resolved. This looks like a software issue. Hence, we bypassed the software and installed the printer.
