I have an HP Envy Photo 7155 that is stuck on the HP loading screen. I has been that way for approximately two weeks. I have searched your forums and many, many people had similar issues but I could not find a solution that worked. I have tried the following.
- Disconnected the power cord, waited at least 60 seconds, reconnected and it did not fix the issue.
- I ensured the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and NOT a surge protector
- I have unplugged the power cable, held the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release. No effect.
- I have checked the inside of the printer for any jam or issue. None found.
- I have removed and reinserted the ink cartridges both when the printer was on and when it was off.
- I removed the ink cartirdges, removed the power cord and waited 60 seconds. Plugged the power cord back in, no effect.
- I have done a wired connection from the printer to the computer. I turned on HP SMART app with no effect. I unplugged and replugged the wired connection in with the HP SMART app running. With the HP SMART app running I unplugged the printer, waited 60 seconds, and plugged back in.
None of these had any impact on the printer. It is still stuck on the loading screen.
The photo is below. Before anyone asks, no, I cannot adjust any sort of settings or reset the printer because I cannot get to the menu. It's stuck on this screen. I have tried a wired connection and the computer won't pick up the printer is connected.

Hi @Brad145,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy Photo 7155 stuck on the initialization screen. Check if you can bypass this to access the home screen of the printer.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
If this does not help, unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release it. Power on the printer and check.
Check for any jams inside the printer and make sure the carriage is moving freely.
I have a few recommendations
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip. Wait at least 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
