My HP Pavilion Laptop was recently upgraded (without my permission) to Windows 11 through Microsoft Auto-Upgrade.
Since then, my HP Envy Pro 6458 will not show up on the list of "Printers & Scanners" in the "Settings" menu. The printer still shows up on my Windows 10 desktop computer, and on a list of attached wireless devices when doing a network scan. The printer still operates from the Windows 10 desktop computer. A diagnostic scan of the wireless network shows the printer with a valid IP address and hostname. The HP Smart App will not find the printer during a normal search. However when entering either the IP address or hostname during a manual search, the printer icon appears and the app returns a "printer found" response. The app will still not find the printer during a normal search. Using the laptop computer's Settings menu, it will not list the HP printer. The printer does not show up in available printers in the Pavilion on any app with a printing utility (like Microsoft Word). It will, however list an Epson printer on the same network.
I am at a loss to determine why the HP printer will not show up on the Pavilion's printer list. Anyone else experience this?
