HP Ink Tank Wireless 410

Hello,

I've tried everything I could find online, various key combos to reset, tried blank password, tried the WPS PIN but nothing has reset the EWS password and won't let me in.

Please help

Hi @mav334r,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it can be when you're unable to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) because the password is not being accepted, especially after trying the available reset methods.

Let's start with a few basic checks to help identify the cause.

1. Verify the printer is connected to the network

Make sure your HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 and your computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Check the printer in the HP app

Open the HP app and confirm that the printer is detected and shows as Online. If you do not have the HP app installed, you can download the latest version here: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site

3. Obtain the printer's IP address

From the HP app or by printing a Network Configuration Page, note the printer's IP address and enter it into a web browser to access the EWS.

4. Restore the printer to its factory default settings

If you no longer have access to the EWS administrator password, you can restore the printer to its factory defaults.

  1. Make sure the printer is powered on.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
  3. Release the buttons when the Power light starts blinking.
  4. Wait for the printer to complete the reset and return to the ready state.

After the reset, reconnect the printer to your wireless network using the HP app, then try accessing the EWS again.

5. Share the following details

If the issue continues, please let us know:

  • Are you being prompted specifically for the EWS administrator password?
  • What is the exact error message displayed?
  • Please share a screenshot of the EWS login page or the error message.
  • Does the issue occur in more than one web browser?

With this information, we'll be happy to help you further and determine the next appropriate steps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Vikram,

I tried your instructions but no joy. I've tried on different machines, windows & mac and across different browsers but this issue persists.

below are the screenshots:

Hi,

Thank you for trying the reset procedure and for providing the screenshots. I understand that you have already tested the EWS login from multiple Windows and Mac computers and different browsers, so this does not appear to be a browser-specific issue.

Since the HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 is an older model and you have already attempted the available EWS password/reset methods, I would recommend one more step before considering service:

Disconnect the printer from Wi-Fi and make sure it is not connected to the network.

Perform the printer's full factory/network reset using the reset procedure documented for the Ink Tank Wireless 410 series.

After the reset completes, do not immediately reconnect it to the previous network.

Connect the printer to a different/temporary Wi-Fi network or complete a fresh setup using the HP app.

Obtain the new IP address and access the EWS using that address.

Check whether the EWS administrator password prompt has been cleared or whether you can establish a new administrator password.

Please note that a WPS PIN is not the same as the EWS administrator password, so entering the WPS PIN at the EWS login screen will not necessarily reset or authenticate the EWS administrator account.

HP provides the Ink Tank Wireless 410 series documentation and factory-reset guidance on its official support page.

If the EWS continues to reject the credentials after a confirmed factory reset, please don't keep trying random key combinations, as the available reset behavior can vary by printer firmware. At that point, please provide the exact EWS error/message shown in the screenshot, and we can determine whether the printer requires an HP service-level reset or further assistance.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi

Hi,

We've tried these steps as well but it still doesnt work. We can only connect to our Wifi if we use the HP app to set it up but it prompts for a username/password right after asking for the Wifi password.

There are no different errors to report, its the same as in screenshots I attached in the previous thread

Hi @mav334r,

Thank you for the update. I understand that you've already tried the additional steps and that the same prompt for a username and password appears immediately after entering the Wi-Fi password in the HP app.

Since there are no new error messages and the screenshots from your previous post show the same issue, could you please confirm whether you have already tried the factory reset steps shared in our first post?

If you have completed the factory reset, please let us know the result and whether the same username/password prompt appears again when setting up the printer through the HP app.

If you have not yet performed the factory reset, please try the steps from the first post and then attempt the Wi-Fi setup again through the HP app.

Once you confirm the result, we'll continue from there and help you with the next steps.

Yes, I have performed a factory reset and the HP App and EWS via browser still ask for username/password

Hi @mav334r,

Thank you for confirming. Since you have already completed the factory reset and the HP App and EWS are still requesting a username and password, we have exhausted the troubleshooting options we can provide through the HP Community.

At this stage, this requires direct Support assistance. Our phone support team has additional tools available and can arrange a Remote Live Lens session if needed, allowing the issue to be reviewed directly on the printer and the appropriate resolution to be provided.
