Hi
I am trying to enable wireless printing so family members can print from mobile devices and laptops / PCs on the home network [Deco /TP-Link Mesh].
Unable to get the Network Information Status to show 'Connected' state on Test Pages I print, which I believe should allow me to navigate in a browser to the Printer Admin / Config page via typing the IP address of the printer.
Steps:
* Connected printer to Windows 10 PC via USB
* Installed hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-v20180815-50157037_1, selecting the 'Install with USB connection'.
* Printer installs successfully.
* Reboot
* Can print from PC as expected.
I need to now convert to WIFI Direct which I believe I need to do via browser using IP address as mentioned above.
[followed this guide: HP LaserJet P1102w Wireless Setup Guide | Wireless Direct Method - YouTube]
I tried installing HP Smart and am able to select the printer (which shows as online). But the printer then shows up on the HP Smart Home page as Unknown status. I presume this is because it is in Network 'Not Connected' state.
Strangely, the Printer is listed as a Wireless Network to connect to on the PC - and also on Mobile phones. Trying to connect directly to this fails.
The TP-Link DHCP assigns IPs and has assigned 192.168.50 to 192.168.71.250.
The Printer Network Info shows 192.168.1.81. And the Direct Print Config shows 192.168.223.1 (Direct Print Status = 0n).
Is the problem that the Printer is not in the IP Range / not managed by the TP-Link DHCP server?
How can I fix this?
Thank you.
