I recently picked up a HP laserjet p4014dn.
I am trying to install it on my windows 10 computer.
I plugged an ethernet cable to the back of the printer and then to my switch (connected to my router), but I am unable to find the printer as connected in my router as well (Asus). I think the network card may be broken? There are no lights that light up on the ethernet port of the printer when I plug in a cable to it. I tried 2 different ethernet cables and same result.
The printer is used, I did a 'restore to factory settings' in the menus prior to trying all this.
I opened up the side panel to access the ethernet PCB and see that there is a coin battery attached to the PCB of the printer ethernet board, if this battery was drained, could it cause the ethernet not to work on the printer?
i attached an imagine of the print config (i think it basically tells me nothing is working, network wise)
Is there another way to test if the ethernet pcb is broken? or is there something going on with my router/computer settings.
thank you

it turns out the ethernet pins on the printer side were bent (not sure how), i was able to unbend them and the ethernet port is working again
i googled the network card you suggested, but nothing comes up in google. also my network card seems to be integrated and doesn't look like the other jetdirect cards I see available on ebay.

Try to reset the printer to factory defaults if that isn't helpful and you still don't have a flashing network led then it's cheapest to buy an working HP Jetdirect network card ( like HP Jetdirect 652N ) and install it ( 2 screws)
