macOS 10.14 Mojave

My Laserjet M15w has lost connection to the internet (I changed password recently). How can I reconnect it? It has no touch screen. I've tried turning it off, I've tried reinstalling drivers. Please help!

Hi @AJ20245555,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to connect the printer to the Mac wirelessly. Have you used a USB cable and checked if that works?

To know how to connect the printer to the network, refer to Connect an HP printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.

  • If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method.
  • Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.

Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.

To check the connectivity, Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. Open a new Terminal window (it's located in Applications > Utilities, or you can just start typing it in Spotlight).
  3. Enter “ping” followed by the IP address of the printer.
  4. Press Return. Press ctrl C after 10 pings
  5. There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

Once connected, you may install the printer using the Airprint driver as shown in this document - Add a printer on Mac

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

thanks for your help. My router doesn't seem to have a WPS button.

I have a Mac so need to find an adaptor so I can try to directly connect the printer to my computer

The thing is - the printer was fine and connected to my wifi. THEN I changed the wifi password and it has lost connection... how can I adjust settings with this printer with no control panel?

thanks so much in advance for your help

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately still no success. I have printed off the configuration report so that's one step however when I enter in the IP address it doesn't come up. What do I try next? Seems so weird that this is so hard to fix. I've uninstalled software on my computer as well and reinstalled and it cannot find the printer either.

thanks
