HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm sure this has been answered a million times but I have tried everything.  I have a Laserjet Printer p1606dn.  It was working perfectly as an air printer.  We just changed our ISP.  I can't seem to get it on the new wifi network.  I've tried it on my Mac, iPad, iPhone and an old Windows 7 laptop to make the change.  I have a CAT 5 to my new router. I thought it might just change on it's own that way.  The p1606 doesn't have a Wifi blue light, a WPS button, & no screen.  I have another HP OfficeJet Pro on the network that I changed to the new Wifi network with no problems.  That printer is the only one that shows up on the network.  I've installed "HP Smart" on my iPhone and my iPad.  It doesn't even see the Laserjet printer.  I attached a USB printer cable to my old Windows laptop but I can't seem to change any printer settings.  I'm at my wits end.  We've changed our network settings before without any problems.  HELP!

Hi,

An HP laserjet Pro P1606dn offers wired ethernet connectivity only, it have no wireless network capabilities, but only a wired ethernet connection to a router.

Have you connected the printer with a CAT5 ethernet cable to your router?

Actually it was an Airprinter before I changed my ISP.  Also when I print the Info sheet it says it is compatible with "AirPrint" and it worked fine before I changed Wifi networks.

You wrote:  "Have you connected the printer with a CAT5 ethernet cable to your router?"

Yes, I have tried it both connected to the router and disconnected. I don't remember which way it was before I changed my Wifi.  The other HP Officejet printer I have has to have the CAT5 disconnected but I think the Laserjet was connected to the router.

Thank you for your suggestions but I've tried it.  I also tried it with a standard USB to Printer cable to my Windows 7 Laptop.  It worked fine that way.

Hi,

Before it was connected with an ethernet cable, the printer is AirPrint enabled indeed but not a wireless printer.

Let's try restoring the default settings of the printer to deny any manual configuration problem.

First, unplug any cables but the power from teh back of the printer and then follow below steps:

Now plug the Ethernet cable back and check if you may see any difference..

If the same persists, print a configuration page and evaluate its network information:

Does the printer have a valid IP Address? what is the actual IP address of the printer?
