Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have a HP Laserjet Pro MFP M183fw printer.  We have changed our internet to Starlink, and can't get printer to connect to Starlink Router.  I have been able to print by using the direct link method, but the printer is not connecting to router so that we can use our phones.  The printer is set to the 2.4ghz, I have tried to reset settings, did a power drain, deleted the printer, reinstalled the printer, and nothing.  All the online instructions say to go to

Network setup>Wireless Settings>Wireless Setup Wizard, but the printer does not display the Wireless Setup Wizard.  The HP Smart app on computer can't find the printer either.

Hi @hmbrown,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble connecting your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M183fw printer to a Starlink router, I would request you to please follow the below steps

Check Network Settings

  • Ensure that your printer is within range of the Starlink router and that the network credentials (SSID and password) are correctly entered into the printer settings.

Verify Wireless Capabilities

  • Make sure that your printer's wireless feature is enabled. You can do this via the printer control panel.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Sometimes, connectivity issues can be resolved by updating the printer's firmware. Visit the HP Support website to download the latest firmware updates for your printer model.

Reboot Devices

  • Power cycle both the printer and the Starlink router. This can sometimes resolve connectivity problems by refreshing network connections.

Reset Network Settings

  • If the problem persists, consider resetting the network settings on your printer and then attempt to reconnect to the Starlink network.

Direct Connection:

  • If possible, try temporarily connecting the printer to a computer using a USB cable to ensure it's functioning properly without any external network influences.

Check Starlink Router Settings:

  • Review the router settings to make sure that there are no restrictions blocking the printer, such as MAC address filtering.

Take care and have an amazing day!
