HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Setting up new printer. Can't get wireless connection to be able to print from laptop or iPhone. I just can't get any clarity on the issue using HP Smart or Diagnostics. I suspect not being able to establish a wireless connection is related to 5G vs 2.4G. This was mentioned somewhere during diagnostics tests. Very frustrating and I think the HP M283cdw printer is an old model that isn't compatible with 5G router. I've worked on this for hours and at this juncture will probably return the printer (just bout it today from Costco).

Hello @Lammjr770

Check -> Setup Poster

Workaround:

[ notebook/phone ... ] ---> [ ( multi compatible ) wireless repeater  ] ---> [ wireless printer ]

Solution (1)

If you are technically unsure, return the printer

Solution (2)

Ask a friend that is good in computers to help you with the workaround

Solution (3)

Buy a wireless compatible printer

Hi,

Just to clarify,m the M283cdw printer does support both bands of 5GHz and 2.4GHz.

Please click the Setup icon and select Self Diagnostics, from there click Run Wireless Test.
