476 MFP printer worked great for years.   Just recently it shows up with a CABLE DISCONNECTED message on network settings.    The cable isnt disconnected.   Nothing physically has changed.    

 

I was told that HP does this periodically to make people purchase their next printer (ie, built in obsolescence).    Can HP verify this is why the message is popping up?  Its a software change you guys did that makes that happen, depending on how old the machine is?
