Hi @allen1946,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Office Jet Pro 8128e printer is displaying a "network connection unavailable" message but shows a Wi-Fi connection to the same network as your computer, you can follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart Devices

  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the power button. If it doesn’t turn off, unplug the power cord from the printer and the power source.

  2. Turn off the computer.

Step 2: Restart the Network

  1. Restart the Router: If your printer is set up on a network, especially if it's wireless, make sure to restart the router.

  2. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and a wall outlet, and then turn on the printer.

Step 3: Verify Network Connection

  1. Ensure that your computer is connected to the same network as your printer:
    • Open the list of available networks on your computer and make sure you are connected to the same network as the printer.

    • For the printer, check the Wireless light on the control panel. If it is solid blue, the printer is connected to the network.

Step 4: Check for Ethernet or USB Connections

  1. If there's an Ethernet cable connected to the printer, disconnect it to ensure Wi-Fi is enabled. Similarly, if a USB cable is connected, disconnect this to ensure network printing capability.

Step 5: Run the HP App Diagnose & Fix

  1. Install and open the HP app on your computer via 123.hp.com or your app store.

  2. Choose your printer, click on Diagnose & Fix, and follow the instructions.

Step 6: Re-add the Printer in the App

  1. Remove and then re-add the printer in the HP app:

    • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your computer.

    • In the HP app, click on the printer, scroll to the bottom, and select Remove from app. Then, add it back by selecting Add Printer.

      I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
