HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I received this printer as a gift.  While trying to set it up, I seem to run into the same problem every time.  It says that it is unable to communicate with the web services server.

The printer works fine when printing from multiple phones, but whenever a computer is involved, it says user intervention is required.  I have downloaded all of the issue scanners and have run diagnostics, but it says it can't find the problem.

I am running on the one cartridge system at the moment, as we would like to know if the printer will work before we buy another ink cartridge.

Hi @k_layne20

Welcome to the HP Support Community. It is a great way to post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I see that your HP Printer is not connecting to the computer.

Please follow the steps listed below to connect using USB cable and then change it to wireless.

Step 1: Connect using USB cable:

Please follow the steps in this document to connect the printer using the USB cable.

Step 2: Change from a USB connection to wireless:

Before changing from a USB connection to wireless, make sure that:

- The printer is connected to your computer with the USB cable until you are prompted to disconnect the cable.

- The computer is connected to the wireless network that you intend to install the printer on.

1. Open the HP printer software (From the computer desktop, click Start, select All apps, click HP, and then select the icon

with the printer’s name).

2. In the printer software, click Tools.

3. Click Device Setup & Software.

4. Select Convert a USB connected printer to wireless. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Please follow the steps in this document to change from a USB connection to a wireless network.

Let me know if this works.

Take care and have a good day.
