Request assistance to fix a printing issue where my printer will only print about 25% the size of what I usually see at 100%  of 8.5 X 11 paper.  I had this issue several years ago and do not recall what I did to fix.  I am printing wirelessly from my laptop within my home.  Internet connection is not an issue.  Trying to print taxes to put in the mail today.  Thanks for advice.

Hi @JSKisgr8

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your printer is scaling down the document size unexpectedly. Here are steps to resolve this issue:

1. Check Printer Settings

  • Open the print dialog box on your laptop.
  • Ensure the Scale or Fit to Page option is set to 100% or Actual Size.
  • Verify that the paper size selected matches the size loaded in the printer (e.g., 8.5 x 11 inches).

2. Reset Printing Preferences

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Restore default settings and save changes.

3. Update Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page for your printer model and download the latest drivers.
  • Install the drivers and restart your laptop.

4. Test with Another Application

  • Try printing from a different application (e.g., Word, PDF viewer) to see if the issue persists.

5. Print a Test Page

  • Print a test page directly from the printer menu to check if the scaling issue occurs independently of your laptop.

Let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance! 😊
