Hi @SCOTT0613,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer is having trouble connecting wirelessly, while other devices can connect to your router without issue. Try the following troubleshooting steps:

Restart Your Printer and Router:

  • Turn off both your router and printer, wait for 30 seconds, and turn them back on. Ensure the router comes on first before the printer.

Check Wireless Settings:

  • From the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Check if the wireless is turned on. If the status shows as "Wireless Off," turn it on from Wireless Settings.

Run the Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • On the printer control panel, click on the Wireless icon and go to Wireless Settings.
  • Select the Wireless Setup Wizard, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your network.

Print a Wireless Test Report:

  • Check the wireless status and network configuration by printing a Wireless Test Report from your printer’s settings. This report may contain specific error messages or suggestions.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions (such as walls or metal objects) between your printer and router; these might interfere with the wireless signal.

Firewall and Security Software:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer that might block network traffic.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website and download any available firmware updates.

Reset Network Settings:

  • You can reset the printer’s network settings to factory defaults via the setup or network settings. Re-run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
