We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have tried many times to connect the printer to Wi-Fi, but it keeps showing offline, even though the power is on and it is connected to Wi-Fi network. I have tried restarting the printer and PC, but the issue remains the same.

Hi @charlessmith1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When your HP OfficeJet printer shows as offline, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue, even if the printer's power is on and it appears to be connected to your Wi-Fi network. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Verify Wireless Connection:

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel is lit solid blue, indicating a proper connection to the network.
  • Make sure that the printer is within range (approximately 8 meters or 26 feet) of your Wi-Fi router.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your router by turning it off, waiting 60 seconds, and then turning it back on.
  • Restart your printer by turning it off, unplugging the power cord, waiting 60 seconds, and reconnecting it directly to a wall outlet.

Printer Settings Verification:

  • On your printer, press the "i" button to print a network configuration report. Ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • Confirm that the printer and your computer or device are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Reset Wireless Network Settings on Printer:

  • Some HP models allow you to reset the network settings through the control panel.

Use HP App:

Firewall & Security Settings:

  • Temporarily disable firewall and security software on your computer to see if it resolves the connection issue. If it does, reconfigure your firewall settings to allow communication with the printer.

Network Printer Properties (Windows):

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click on your printer and ensure "Use Printer Online" is selected.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP printer software, including any driver updates, ensuring that the correct driver is set as the default.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
