Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I literally is frustrated on my HP 6970 printer when my expired authentic new HP cartridges do not work anymore. Unknowingly, the printer may have set the update automatically on, putting the new firmware that disallow expired HP cartridges to work. I bought during promotion dozen of ink cartridge at a discount but due the the life span, the cost amount  of the balance cartridges is more than 2 x times the printer price. How would HP recover the loyalty of consumer like me that have been using HP for decades.

I would like to ask for possible older firmware version for my printer officejet HP 6970. can anyone helps?

Hello,

Unfortunately, for security reasons, we cannot roll back to an earlier version of your printer's firmware.

Your printer has dynamic security. It only applies to ink cartridges equipped with an authentic HP electronic circuit. Ink cartridges with modified or non-HP electronic circuits may not work, and those that are currently operating may not work in the future.

For more information, go to Printers with dynamic security.

If you wish, you can purchase an HP Instant Ink plan , so you can use your printer with authentic HP cartridges. The price of the package is based only on the number of pages printed and not on the number of ink cartridges received by the service.

Don't hesitate to contact us in case of need.

Interesting how a "I cannot fix the problem caused by our firmware" gets translated into a "Solved"

Not interested in HP shipping me cartridges when they think I need them,

After 20 years of HP printers, it may be time to look elsewhere for my printing needs.
