Hi @BUCKEYE59

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how worrying it feels when your OfficeJet Pro 8035 suddenly stops printing and shows an error state. Thank you for reaching out and for the effort you’ve already made to check the basics.

Let’s go step by step to bring the printer back to normal operation.

1. Restart the printer and clear the error

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cord back in and power on the printer.
  • Check if the error clears and the printer returns to “Ready.”

2. Check cartridge and paper setup

  • Open the ink access door and ensure cartridges are seated firmly.
  • Remove and reinstall them if necessary.
  • Confirm that paper is loaded correctly in the input tray and that no jams are present.

3. Verify connection

  • If using Wi‑Fi, press the Wireless button on the printer and confirm it is connected to your network.
  • If using USB, ensure the cable is securely connected directly to the computer (avoid hubs).
  • On your computer, open the HP App and check if the printer shows as “Ready.”

4. Run a test print from the printer itself

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup → Reports → Printer Status Report.
  • If this prints successfully, the hardware is fine and the issue is with the computer connection.

5. Reinstall drivers if needed

6. Optional check in HP App

  • Open the HP App, select your printer, and try printing a test page.
  • If scanning and copying work but printing fails, reinstalling the driver usually resolves the mismatch.

You’ve already shown great care in troubleshooting. With a restart, cartridge check, and driver refresh, your OfficeJet Pro 8035 should return to normal printing.
