HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e All-in-One Printer

Hi,

Bought an OfficeJet Pro 9012e a couple of days ago and installed it today (my old OfficeJet Pro 8600 finally stopped printing).

At the same time I was installing and testing the new printer, my wife and daughter started complaining that our home network was going down for a few minutes. This happened a couple of times (on the last years this never happened -- sure, a power failure once a year but network is super stable).

To my surprise, found the culprit at the end of the day -- it's the new printer! Every time it powers off, the home router restarts 😞 ... I've test this 5 times now, and every time it is the same. I've now turned off most of the network settings like Wi-Fi (printer is wired to a switch),  TCP-IP v6, Bonjour, IP printing, firewall, proprietary protocols, etc. -- right now only thing ON is TCP-IP v4 and pretty much else turned off. And it stills reboots the router -- press the power button on the printer and around 5 seconds later I lose the network while the router reboots.

Any ideas how to solve this? The router is proprietary from my telecom provider (fiber connection) and has all the common network features. It is quite reliable, never had this problem. And we have all sorts of connected devices like air conditioning, kitchen appliances, laptops, tablets, TVs, ...

Thanks in advance for any inputs.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's reset the network settings on the Printer: Touch Network Setup. Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored. Touch Yes.

Once done, connect the to the Wi-Fi: 1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Wireless). 2. Touch ( Settings ). 3. Touch Wireless Settings. 4. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup. 5. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Let me know if this helps.
