Microsoft Windows XP

I’ve tried everything possible. My printed is connected to my home wifi, my iPhone and computer as well. The printer not being located, I tried to register the printer on the website but the serial number is not recognized neither so I’m stuck because I can’t even get in touch with the assistance. Reach out to me for any kind of tips. Thank you

Hi @Villiers,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with your HP Officejet 250 printer. Let's try to troubleshoot this issue step by step.

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Make sure that your printer and the devices (iPhone and computer) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Printer's Wi-Fi Status:

  • Ensure that the printer's Wi-Fi is enabled.
  • Restart the printer and wait for it to connect to your home Wi-Fi network.

HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your iPhone.
  • Open the app and see if it detects your printer. The app can help you set up and manage your printer.

HP ePrint:

  • Ensure that HP ePrint is enabled on your printer. This feature allows you to print from your phone.
  • If it's not enabled, you can enable it from your printer's control panel.

Manual Setup on Computer:

  • On your computer, go to "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers" (Windows) or "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" (Mac).
  • Look for your printer and make sure it's listed there. If not, click "Add a printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • If your printer has outdated firmware, it might have trouble connecting to your network. Visit the HP website to check for firmware updates for your printer model and follow their instructions to update it.

Check for Firewall/Antivirus Blocking:

  • Sometimes, security software on your computer may block communication with the printer. Check your security software settings to make sure it's not blocking the printer.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you can try a factory reset on your printer. Be aware that this will erase all settings, so use it as a last option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
