I had purchased an HP 5255 Office Jet awhile ago and have NEVER been able to get it to work wirelessly. It wasn't an issue since I used my laptop on the desk but now I need it to print from a different area. I spent so much time searching online (this appears to be a common issue w/this printer) and nothing has worked. Is there any actual working resolution to this issue??

Hi,

Please let us know what is the issue, to get a working resolution it will help knowing what the problem is 😉

Let's start with restoring the wireless settings of the printer and the reconnect the printer by following the Wireless Setup Wizard, see below support document with the steps (Follow step 1, then skip to the "Connect the printer with the Wireless Setup Wizard (printers with a touchscreen)" section:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-5200-all-in-one-printer-series/1409575...

Once connecting the printer try printing.

If you experience any problem be sure to clarify the exact behavior, what exact behavior or error returns?

My HP Officejet 5255 stopped printing on 5/21/2021 and I thought it could be the router.  I've tried going through HP Smart-No luck, I've tried Googling YouTube video's and I am still stuck at the same issue that no one has been discussing or has seemed to come across.  ALl the videos out there show you to select the connection and then move forward with entering the "Network Security Key" I cannot get the printer to connect to anything and it just keeps showing me a long line as if it is "thinking" or "buffering".

It's as if it cannot locate the router.  All mine keeps doing is searching to connect and never connects to my Internet Provider.  I have even switched out my router because the WPS light was not on.  I have a new router and it continues to have the same issue.

I'm ready to go get another printer because I cannot think of anything else I can do to resolve.  Oh and I even uninstalled.

Had anyone come across this before?

Again, the printer will NOT work wirelessly and will only work if cable is connected to it and the laptop. I have tried your suggestions and they have not worked. I have contacted my internet provider and Apple and both have said it is an issue w/HP. This printer has never been able to connect wireless. It is connected to the internet but it shows as offline on the laptop.

Please Restore the Network Defaults as listed below, then skip to the 'Connect the printer with the Wireless Setup Wizard (printers with a touchscreen)' section and reconnect the printer by following the Wireless Setup Wizard:

Once reconnecting the printer, print a Wireless Test Report as listed below and include a picture of the printer report to get better understanding of any possible cause:
