I try to print a document and my printer says there is a problem with my HP account.....

I haven't changed anything....any ideas?

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP OfficeJet 8015 suddenly says there's a problem with your HP account, especially when nothing seems to have changed on your end.

This issue is often related to HP+ or Instant Ink-connected printers, which require an active internet connection and a valid HP account to function properly. Let’s get this sorted step-by-step.


1. Restart and Check Connection

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and ensure it’s connected to Wi-Fi:
    • On the printer screen: Go to Settings > Network Settings > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
    • Reconnect if needed


2. Sign in to Your HP Account

  • Go to: HP Smart
  • Sign in with the same email address used to set up the printer originally
  • Check for:
    • Alerts or Billing Issues
    • Any expired HP+ or Instant Ink plan
    • Ensure the OfficeJet 8015 appears in the devices list

3. Use the HP Smart App to Reclaim Printer

  • Open HP Smart on your computer or phone
  • If the printer shows as offline or needs attention:
    • Tap it → Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > HP Account
    • Select Reconnect or Update HP Account
    • You may be prompted to sign in again
