My HP Officejet Pro 9010e keeps going offline, as with so many other users. HP Scan and Print Doctor only very rarely fixes this. Restarting the printer takes time because of all the ablutions it goes through (quite possibly wasting ink in the process). The only fix that works consistently is to set up the network connection anew. This means laboriously re-entering the network password - even though the password is already stored in the printer.
What is needed, as far as I can see, is a simple 'Network refresh' option on the printer display which sets up a new connection using the current Wi-Fi SSID and the stored password, with the press of just one button on the touchscreen.
HP Team: so many users have reported this problem and it has persisted for months. The above solution should save a lot of people a lot of time and frustration and help HP's reputation. Please help!

Hi @JakeEnderby,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with your HP Officejet Pro 9010e going offline frequently.
- Check Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update firmware through the printer's control panel or HP's support website.
- Stabilize Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure your printer is within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router to maintain a stable connection. If possible, try moving the printer closer to the router.
- Static IP Address: Assign a static IP address to your printer through your router's settings. This can sometimes help maintain a consistent connection.
- Reset Network Settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings and reset them. Then, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network as you mentioned, entering the password again.
- Check for Interference: Nearby electronic devices or appliances can sometimes interfere with Wi-Fi signals. Keep your printer away from such devices if possible.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your reply, Aiden4.
To clarify, I had already carried out all five of the procedures you listed before I posted.
None of them have prevented the printer from going offline. The printer is within 2 metres of the computer, and the wifi signal strong in both cases. The latest firmware is installed on the printer.
Reset Network Settings does indeed work, but you haven't yet engaged with the main point of my post, which is highlighted in the subject line.
It is very time-consuming to re-enter the network password each time one re-connects to the same network via the tiny touch screen. It requires many presses of on-screen buttons.
It is also unnecessary, since the network password for the network is already stored in the printer.
What I am asking for is an additional option - to re-connect to the existing network with the press of a single button, using the stored password. The option could be called refresh existing connection or similar. With a single button press, the printer would disconnect from the existing network and reconnect to it using the stored password.
Since many HP printer users are frequently afflicted by the printer offline state, the above expedient would make things a lot easier and a lot less frustrating.
It should be possible to implement this option via a firmware update. Please respond to this suggestion.
Thank you.
