Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have a HP Officejet Pro 9015e which I am trying to connect to my router using a IP address of 169.254.1.X. The printer connects to the router, but the IP address to the printer never updates and there you can't communicate to the printer. if I but if I change my router to a 192.X.X.X IP, the printer connects with no problem. Does the printer have a restriction one what ip addreses range it has to be in (ie 192.X.X.X ,10.X.X.X).? These tried with both a wired and wireless

@Keith6354, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

The IP address 169. is invalid. This is an APIPA address. Not to be used.

Kindly use an auto-assigned IP address on the printer or use 192. IP address.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
