HP printers are garbage. Bought in november of 2025. Already not working in Sept. 2026. Will not connect or add to laptop. Same reason I bought this to replace the last one. That's two in a row. I'm done.

Hi  @fr33d0g,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I can certainly understand how Concerning it is when a printer you've relied on stops working, especially when you've had a similar experience with a previous device. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and I'd be glad to help look into this with you.

To better understand what's happening, could you kindly share the following details?

  • Printer model name
  • Is the printer connected via Wi-Fi or USB?
  • Do you receive any error message when trying to add the printer?
  • Are other devices on your network able to see or connect to the printer?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps that are specifically helpful when a printer cannot be discovered or added to a computer:

  1. Restart the printer, laptop, and Wi-Fi router.
  2. Ensure the printer and laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network (if using a wireless connection).
  3. Open the HP app and check whether the printer appears as "Ready."
  4. Run HP App  (Windows) to automatically detect and resolve connectivity issues.
  5. Remove the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, then add it again.
  6. If using Wi-Fi, restore the printer's network settings and reconnect it through the HP app.
  7. Check whether Windows has any pending updates and install them before attempting the printer setup again.

I hope this helps.
