I bought a new HP DeskJet 2700, and I am trying to connect my printer to the Wi-Fi. My network is working fine, yet the printer is unable to detect it and keeps showing offline. Is there anything that I am missing while doing the wireless setup?

Hi @charlessmith12,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I am sorry to hear that your HP DeskJet 2700 printer is having trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi network, I would request you to please follow the steps:
Confirm Wi‑Fi Band
- The DeskJet 2700 supports 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi only.
- If your new hub combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one name (SSID), split them into two (e.g., “HomeWiFi‑2.4” and “HomeWiFi‑5”).
- Connect the printer only to the 2.4 GHz SSID.
Reset Network Settings
- On the printer:
- Hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
- This restores network defaults (wireless light will blink).
Reconnect via HP Smart
- Install/open HP Smart on your phone or computer.
- Tap Add Printer → Set Up a New Printer.
- Select your 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, enter the password, and wait until the wireless light turns solid.
Re‑Add Printer in System Settings
- On your Mac/PC:
- Go to Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the DeskJet 2700.
- Add it again using the IP address or HP Smart.
Take care and have an amazing day!
