We've had this printer for a couple of year, used it yesterday and it printed fine over wifi, then a few hours later it wouldn't print. We've tried every troubleshooting tip, plugged and unplugged it numerous times, reset it to factory settings, uninstalled and reinstalled. Everything that is recommended. I even tried to ping the ip address of the printer from my network console and it couldn't be found. I think it must have a bad network card or connection that needs to be replaced. Is it possible to get this part and replace it on this model?

Hi @Gigi32ky,,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Verify Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is working properly and other devices can connect to it. Restart your router/modem and check if the printer can connect after the network is stable.
Printer Network Configuration:
- Check the printer’s network settings by going to the control panel and ensuring it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that the network name (SSID) and password are correct.
IP Address Check:
- If the printer is set to acquire IP automatically (DHCP), try setting a static IP address within the printer’s network settings.
Firmware Updates:
- Ensure that both your printer firmware and router firmware are up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve connectivity issues.
Check Router Settings:
- Ensure that MAC Address filtering is not enabled on your router, or if it is, make sure the printer’s MAC address is included in the allowed list.
Wi-Fi Frequency Band:
- If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, make sure the printer is connected to the 2.4GHz band as some printers may not be compatible with the 5GHz band.
Interference:
- Try changing the router's channel to reduce interference from other wireless devices.
Check for IP Conflicts:
- Ensure there are no IP conflicts or devices using the same IP address. You can do this by checking connected devices in your router settings or using an IP scanner tool.
HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app and use it to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. The app might provide more detailed insights into connectivity problems.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. Our network is working appropriately and we have many devices connected to it and working both wifi and ethernet. All of the suggestions you made have been confirmed except for this one:
- Check the printer’s network settings by going to the control panel and ensuring it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that the network name (SSID) and password are correct
We do not have the printer with the control panel on the actual printer. My only option is to use the Support Assistant App and try to open the Network status option which is grayed out. If I go to the option to Setup the printer, it tells me to connect it to a wireless network first. If I could connect it to a wireless network I wouldn't have a problem. I even tried putting it on the ethernet connection last night and it won't detect that. That is why i say this is a problem with the internal network card or adaptor of the printer. Surely there is a way to change these things out or install a new one just like you do with laptops and computers. I have followed every step that is offered and watched every video to try and get this printer back online and none of them have worked. I'm not the only one with this problem. There has to be a way to fix this other than buying a new printer or using a usb cable every time I want to print something.

Hi @Gigi32ky,
Thank you for getting back. Please help me with the details below to help you better.
1.) Are the printer and PC/ Phone connected to the same network?
2.) Is your router dual-band enabled, i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual band has different SSIDS for 2.4G and 5G networks.
3.) What is the distance between the router and the printer? The recommended distance for a stable connection is 9-12ft.
4.) Is there a WPS push button on the router?
Keep me posted
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
